George Kapke has been engaged in a broad suburban law practice for over thirty years in the area of business and civil litigation, municipal law and personal injury law.
Mr. Kapke received an undergraduate degree in Economics from William Jewell College in 1966. As the top business/economics major in his class, he was the recipient of the Wall Street Journal's Achievement Award.
In 1969, Mr. Kapke earned his law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law where he was a dean merit scholar. While attending law school, George completed clerkships at the trial firm of Sheridan, Sanders, Millin, Peters, Carr and Sharp, and with the legal department of the Kansas City Southern Railroad.
Mr. Kapke began post-graduate legal practice with the defense litigation firm of Jackson & Sherman and has been an associate and partner with Kapke & Willerth L.L.C., since 1971. George has practiced primarily civil litigation in all state and federal courts of Missouri. He has served individuals, business entities and municipal clients by providing both general legal and litigation needs.
A major focus for Mr. Kapke, beyond the practice of law, has been a dedicated, long-term involvement at all levels of the American, Missouri, and Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Associations. George has served in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, the Board of Governors of The Missouri Bar, the Executive Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and Chairman of Region IV of the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel.
Mr. Kapke is also involved in the local community. He currently serves as Chairman of Hillcrest Ministries Transitional Housing (Mid America) and has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Independence Regional Health Center and is a member of its Ethics Committee. He is also a deacon and trustee of the First Baptist Church of Independence.
