Jackie McCormick Heanue is an associate attorney with Kapke & Willerth, LLC.  Prior to joining Kapke & Willerth in Spring 2010, Jackie was a Tax Research Specialist at H&R Block's World Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. In law school, Jackie focused her efforts significantly toward taxation, business, transactions and estate planning. She worked with a local accounting firm through law school assisting with tax preparation. She also served as a supervisor for the law school's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, assisting low income individuals with tax preparation at no cost. Since joining Kapke & Willerth, Jackie has continued to devote her energy to taxation, business, and estates and trusts, and has also begun expanding her practice areas through assisting the partners in various matters including municipal representation, personal injury and tort claims, business litigation and real estate matters.

Jackie attended law school at the University of Missouri Kansas City, While in law school, Jackie served as Treasurer of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity for two years, winning the fraternity's award for service and activity within the group in her third year. She also participated extensively in the Association for Women Law Students, participating in a number of fundraisers and philanthropic activities.

Prior to law school, Jackie earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business Administration from the University of Missouri Kansas City's Bloch School of Business and Public Administration. She also has prior work experience in the municipal field, working in both the Administration and Parks and Recreation departments of the City of Lee's Summit during college and graduate school.

In addition to her professional legal activities, Jackie currently serves as Treasurer of Eden Renewal, a not for profit faith based organization whose goal it is to help faith communities reduce their carbon footprint on the environment.
